August was another road trip month for us. After having a great time in Chicago, we recovered a bit and then went north for an extended weekend visit to see my folks, my sister, my niece, and to finally meet the new man in my sister's life (Matt). Oh, and of course we were there to see our canine brothers Fergus and Ian.
The weather was great (a bit hot for Ironwood, but still great) and we had a fine time hanging around my parents' house - both inside (drawing on the white board, goofing around with toys, watching movies, reading stories, etc) and outside (exploring the pond, riding bikes, popping off Owen's air powered rockets, etc). The boys had a lot of fun hamming it up for all of us and playing with their cousin Ella and the dogs. We took a day trip to a fantastic swimming beach about an hour away and besides swimming and having a picnic lunch, we visited the nature center and the local ice cream hot spot as well. We were all glad to be able to meet Matt and put a face to the name we had been hearing so much lately.
As always, there were so many pics to go through that I had to make some hard choices. I focused in on the boys and the MN Ainslies (this is, after all, mostly a blog about them/us ... right?) for some of the posts coming up but I think everyone got in somewhere or another. Also, I decided to split them up based on whether they were taken inside my parents' house, outside of my parents' house, at the lake, or as part of our posed family picture hour.
So, without further ado, here are the pics (in collage format of course) taken inside the house:

Look at that family! We all had a great time and I love watching the kids together. Doesn't happen often enough. Fergus missed the kids and sulked for hours after you left.
