For many weeks, Owen had a loose tooth. It was soon named, "Mr. Wiggly." Over the course of many weeks, Owen became accustomed to its movement and excited by its imminent departure. Then, the excitement wore off. It started to bug him. He even came close to allowing me or Karen to use tools to help remove it. In fact, my sister took a good photo during Ainslie Xmas of Owen putting toy pliers into his mouth in a failed bid to extract the offending enamel.
Then, during dinner on January 6, he felt it shift more than it had before. The gum below it started to bleed. We excitedly told him that it was a sign that Mr. Wiggly was ready to come out. Owen calmly and determinedly sat on the steps and worked it back and forth (using a Kleenex to wipe blood from his mouth every few seconds) for a minute or so. Suddenly, he grunted and showed us the tiny tooth. His eyes were as huge as his smile. He was psyched!
Not the best view perhaps, but Karen did make sure to snap a few quick phone camera pics to mark the big event:

Good job of keeping at the job Owen!
