7-8-13! Birthday Treasure

After the zoo, O konked out for his afternoon nap and Karen prepared a treasure hunt for the little pirate. He woke up, snacked a bit, and then followed a trail of gold doubloons through the house, into the back yard, and then back into the house in order to find the tent with the big red "X" marking the spot of his gift hoard. We were surprised to see Aunt Lisa drive up when we were about 75% through the gift opening. She was just as surprised to see us. She thought we'd be at work and she had intended to leave a huge birthday balloon for O by the front door. Instead, she came in to catch up with us a bit, give O his balloon and wish him a happy birthday in person, and talk to him about his special day and his gifts. He was especially excited to receive his explorer's vest and bug catching/holding box, his kid sized basketball hoop, and more Jake and the Neverland Pirates stuff (books, puzzles, and a treasure box of gear for someone ...hmmmm ... I wonder who? to pretend to be Captain Hook). Nice.
