August was the planned "Family Visits/Road Trips" month for us this year. The first planned excursion was to the Cavanaugh household. Karen and I took some PTO, packed up the boys and a Highlander full of gear, and visited Chicago over an extended weekend (August 9-12). Great time. A small family reunion took place on Saturday, Jesse's 4th birthday party took place on Sunday, and time hanging out and playing with the family filled in all the gaps. Karen and I took plenty of pics (too many? nah!) and I did my best to choose some fun selections for some representative collages.
Since they are such early risers, there were hours of morning time when the boys had time to eat their breakfast and joke around with Grandpa, have fun with their cousin Tyler, or color with Grandma. This first collage is some random shots of just that kind of thing. Toys, improvised drums, books, and crayons ... seemed to be exactly what they were looking for.
The other posts of this visit will kick up the energy level a notch or three ... or ten.
