Force Friday (September 4) and Beyond

Karen decided to take "Force Friday" (the Friday before Labor Day and the start of school when the latest crop of Star Wars toys hit the Target shelves) off from work. She took the boys to Target, then out for lunch at Red Robin, and then later that night Quinn came over for the boys' very first sleepover (Collin was supposed to come over as well but got sick that day). Talk about a fun filled 24 hours!

Later on over Labor Day weekend, we tried our hands at geocaching. It was harder than we anticipated and we were skunked by a few hidden items but we kept at it until we had one successful find.

One of the last outdoor activities for the long weekend was taking both Owen and Logan out in the canoe for their very first time. I have very purposefully waited this long because I wanted them comfortable with swimming and even with the thought of being in "deep" water in what can feel like an unstable vessel. Turns out it had been about 6 years (or so) since Karen went out as well. Wow. We hit Alimagnet and we all had a great time! I'm thinking that bodes well for future outings.
