Logan's 2-Year Growth Charts

Wow. Logan is 2 years old. Seriously? Overused cliché but it is true ... time flies with kids. Looking back through this blog, it seems like only a year ago that I was announcing that Owen was 2. Now he is almost 4 and a half (going on 10) and my littlest man is already 2!

Like Owen, I am not going to keep up with growth charts for Logan anymore. This is the last one. It was fun to do so for each of their first two years; it is a nice way to preserve the data for history. That said, from now on it'll just be tracking clothing and hat sizes and marking their height on the measuring tree that Karen put up in our basement.

So, I'll post some birthday celebration shots later. For now, I'll stick to the facts. Logan is 32.9 lbs. (93rd percentile), 37.8" tall (99th+ percentile), has a head of 19.8" circumference (87th percentile), and is a very well proportioned kid as far as his height-to-weight ratio goes. For some reason, the doc included a BMI measurement this time. 16.19 (38th percentile). That irks me a bit as I consider BMI one of the more flawed calculations for humanity (and seems even more so for a toddler). It is too bad that it is such a fashionable craze as it is often misleading at best and flat out wrong at worst - doing more harm than good.

Sorry. Got off track there. To sum up: Logan is still a very solid lad (as his weight indicates -he's only a few pounds lighter than Owen right now) and hasn't "leaned out" like his bro starting doing around this age, but his increased activity is slimming him a bit and definitely building up some muscles. All in all, he is far more comfortable with his own strength and physicality than Owen was at 2. He is rough and tumble and thrives on physical sensation. All indicators point toward athletic pursuits for the "younger" brother (don't call him "little" brother as the term does not fit). We'll see if Owen's burgeoning efforts in that regard inspire Logan to follow suit.
