Caesar Sledded

On December 8/9, the Twin Cities got hit with Winter Storm Caesar. Anywhere from 8" to 16" came down in the larger metro area. In Shakopee, we're guessing we got somewhere in the lower totals of snowfall - probably 9" - 11" around us. It was awesome. Though the entire clan is fighting some form of virus at the moment, it was just too perfect of an outdoor opportunity/experience to miss so we all bundled up and hit the neighborhood park. This is the park Owen calls the "Pink Park" for obvious reasons as it is the predominant color in the playground equipment (weird but true). There are plenty of past blog posts that include pics from this particular park, but we have never seen it under such a deep blanket of snow. We chose it because it has a tiny hill that we felt would be perfect for a 3 year old to sled on in his new sled (he got it last Christmas but we had almost no snow last year). We were right. After about 20 minutes Logan started to fuss so we told Owen that we were going in 5 minutes. 15 minutes or so later we finally packed up and headed home. I am sure that O could've stayed out there for hours. The following pics should give a good indication of what kind of afternoon it was - even if the sledding pics were from a bit too far away for good detail.

 

It is a little big for him ... he'll grow into it.
