Anyone viewing this blog knows that the MN Ainslies travel A LOT to see friends and family around the country. As many of you know from firsthand experience, travel takes on a whole new level of difficulty with kids - and even more when the kids are as young as Owen and Logan. Now don't get me wrong - our little dudes are awesome travelers all things considered. But that said, Karen and I have really come to appreciate the holidays where there is no travel involved. This Thanksgiving was one such holiday for us. And not only was it a laid back and easy going day of plenty ... it was unseasonably warm! So, we got outside, played, and worked up an appetite before dinner.
The collage below begins with Karen and "Chef Owen" making pumpkin pie together in the morning and then transitions into our time at the park enjoying the beautiful weather. Then, of course, a shot of me slicing the bird and one of K and the boys around our table.
Two days later, we had 2nd Thanksgiving at my Uncle Hugh and Aunt Lisa's. It was a blast! The boys were the stars of the gathering with Owen in particular wowing the adults with his manners, vocabulary, and head full of trivia and funny one-liners. Unfortunately, we didn't even get our camera out and any pictures taken have not yet been passed on.
A quick glance at the photo of Jake carving the bird, and I thought, "When did O start shaving? And they already let him play with knives?!?!?!?!" Seriously, somewhere on your blog there is a picture of O, I think sitting on the floor reading (to really narrow it down) and looking up at the camera, and he is in the exact pose and making almost exactly the same face as Jake.

Those special times when it is "just" family are often the best. I know O learned that carrot souffle is good stuff, he's right! A real bonus to have the fun time outside too. Next year a venison roast? (I keep hopin')Keep working on the cooking Owen, gals just love a guy who can cook!! (specially Moms and grammas!) Nice that you could all show off for the extended family as well as have your own day. We'll have second Christmas together. Nani
