Ornamental Bakery

Like most kids his age, Owen loves arts and crafts. He paints, colors, draws, sculps with Play-Doh, and sprinkles, cuts, and glues with the best of 'em. He also loves to help Karen bake. So, on the first of December Karen and Owen combined the two and created homemade Christmas ornaments. After helping to make the "dough," the boy chose the cookie cutters to be used and assisted in laying them out on the cookie sheet for baking. Then, once they were out and cooled, Owen showed a laser focus and concentration somewhat unusual in 3 year olds and painted and decorated nonstop for an hour and a half until they were all done.

His choice in Christmas ornaments was somewhat unusual and a pumpkin, bat, and ghost made the list alongside the more traditional star, Christmas tree, ginger bread man, candy cane, etc, etc. A holiday is a holiday, right? We had to agree with the little man's logic. He already gifted the bat to "Uncle" Ben and "Aunt" Mel when they came over to babysit and for now we're keeping the pumpkin and ghost for ourselves. The plan is to pass some of Owen's handiwork out to immediate family during our Christmas travels.
